SonicWALL, Inc. , a leading secure network infrastructure company, today announced that it has been awarded a contract valued at $500,000 by a security agency of the U.S. Federal Government. The agency will use SonicWALL's Unified Threat Management (UTM) network security appliances as a key component of their cyber security arsenal to detect and block malware from entering their network. Similar to the security screening at an airport, SonicWALL UTM appliances help the Government detect and block malware at the network gateway before malicious code can access or damage customer networks.
"The frequency and sophistication of network based attacks continues to increase. Proactive detection and prevention is the key to mitigating these threats. It's rewarding to work with an agency that understands that proactive detection is an essential component of a comprehensive information security strategy," said Brandon Conley, VP of Enterprise Sales, SonicWALL. "SonicWALL has been selected because we are uniquely positioned to meet the demanding performance requirements of implementing full UTM screening on a large distributed government network."
SonicWALL partnered with DLT Solutions, Inc., a value-added reseller of industry-leading IT products and services. Collectively, they have been engaged with the agency for several months, going through a rigorous evaluation and selection process.
"As a premier value-added reseller, DLT recognizes the importance of eliminating the growing number of security threats against our government customers," said Brian Strosser, vice president, Enterprise Data Management, DLT Solutions. "The agency now has a unified solution combining intrusion prevention, anti-virus and anti-spyware providing enterprise-class deep packet inspection without significantly impacting network throughput."
